My grandmother, Vera Mona Wilkinson (nee Ovenden), dressing up as a pirate. Probably taken as some kind of advertising for my great grandmother’s fancy dress business.

money-hungry octopus

This graffiti artist is doing really well for himself. Lower East Side businesses are paying him to deck out their shop fronts and construction scaffolding with his cute octopi and other characters. I think this guy is meant to advertise this bodega’s ATM, but I think he can be appreciated on many levels.
