BOOKER T. WASHINGTON and His Own G-8 SUMMIT MEETING

[NOTE: One Blogger called me an "arrogant racist" for my below caption. You decide.]

*************************************

Standing front and center is the great American MULATTO educator, BOOKER T. WASHINGTON.

Or…You can call him BI-RACIAL.

After all, use of the word MULATTO is now falling out of favor with many, and etymologically speaking, is grounds for charges of racism and political incorrectness.

On the other hand, people rarely speak any language intending to communicate the etymological root meanings of the vocabulary they employ. The applied, intended meaning of HALF BLACK + HALF WHITE is unobjectionable, and is highly specific to that particular mix. The term BI-RACIAL is also correct, but non-specific to the case, That is to say, CHINESE + IRISH is also "bi-racial".

In any case, Booker T, is definitely not BLACK — as in straight-from-black-Africa BLACK. And neither is American President Barak Obama. Unless, that is, you subscribe to the old KKK "One Drop Rule" !!!

WARNING : THE FOLLOWING CAPTION CONTAINS "POLITICALLY INCORRECT" COMMENTARY AND OPINIONS. IF YOU CAN’T STAND THE HEAT, GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN (as they say), and READ NO FURTHER. OTHERWISE, IT’S OPEN FOR COMMENTS FROM REAL FLICKr MEMBERS WHO ALSO HAVE YOUR OWN REAL PHOTOSTREAMS HERE.

A LISTING OF ALL THOSE APPEARING IN THIS HISTORIC IMAGE APPEARS AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THIS CAPTION — WHICH YOU MAY IMMEDIATELY JUMP TO WITHOUT HAVING TO READ THE WIDE-RANGING COMMENTARY.

************************************************

Racist Whites [out of misguided prejudice] and Blacks [out of misguided pride] both call BOOKER T. WASHINGTON a "Black" man, or a "Negro" — but he was neither. His Father was WHITE, and his Mother was BLACK — which at that time made Booker T. a MULATTO. Some would sneer and use any other number of less-than-complimentary descriptive tags.

However, there is not a damn thing wrong with being MULATTO.

Re : CHOCOLATE [Black] + MILK [White] = Delicious !

Re: CHOCOLATE [Black] + VANILLA [White] MILK SHAKES = The Best !

Re: OREO COOKIES = Yum !

Re: 88 BLACK & WHITE PIANO KEYS = Great Music !

Re: BLACK & WHITE Film and Photos = The Stuff of Art.

Re: MILKY WAY GALAXY against a BLACK NIGHT SKY = The Cosmos Revealed

Re: BLACK LETTERS printed on WHITE PAPER = Every Book Every Written

And other endless examples….

These days, when it comes to MULATTOS, we mostly see American President BARACK OBAMA, and actress HALLE BERRY in the news. If you took the time, you’d discover a host of other interesting, talented, and illustrious individuals in this world under the "racial category" of MULATTO.

Although it would be easier to define everyone by our Citizenship(s) alone, in the real world, "race tags" are unavoidable, so we should do our best to get them right — and hang on to them for positive reasons, and not divisive ones.

In Japan, being "Japanese" is largely defined by ancestral heritage in the "racially pure" Japanese Nation. Yes, a "blond-haired, blue-eyed Swede", may become a citizen of Japan, but the Japanese themselves would NEVER call him "Japanese". They would call him a "Foreigner with Japanese Citizenship".

The Japanese have always had a hard time in their hearts and minds when it came to defining half-Japanese "mixed-breeds" — and they still do. But these days in Japan, it is not a negative thing in the public eye to be a "mixed breed" [Ainoko, Half, Double, etc], whereas being an "Amerasian" child in several OTHER Southeast Asian countries still has negative social stigma attached.

Okinawa_Soba is not a racist, and could care less about anyone’s "race", skin color or ancestral heritage. But I am very definitely a CULTURE-IST. That is, I do judge people by the cultures they adhere to, and freely condemn any and all aspects of my OWN and OTHER cultures that I don’t agree with, and would not want mixing with my own social or political ethic.

That is to say, I have NO use for Head-Hunters and Cannibals, do NOT anthropologically fawn over remote tribal peoples who believe that the Moon is God, do NOT clap for joy when whole regions of men believe that raping young virgins will cure them of AIDS, and I DO detest those superstitious cultures that would drive certain animals to extinction because the men think that making some soup out of the left paw will give them a 4-hour erection.

Before any of you jump on that statement, ask yourself if you want your 5-year-old daughter to be pinned to the floor while her clitoral and vaginal plumbing is sliced off by some African or Bedouin tribal chief using a rusty old razor blade, or lid from a tuna fish can…..and no anesthesia. NO ? Oh my, how prejudiced you are ! Don’t you know that you must respect all cultures in their time-place context ?

Yeah, right. Excuse me while I barf.

"…….BY EDUCATION MOST HAVE BEEN MISLED, SO THEY BELIEVE BECAUSE THEY WERE SO BRED….." — John Dryden (1631-1700)

With apologies to Mr. Dryden, I have taken the liberty to transform his sentiments…..

"…….BY CULTURE MOST MINDS HAVE BEEN INBRED, SO WE BEHAVE BECAUSE WE WERE SO BRED…." — Okinawa_ Soba (2008)

I’ll be the first to admit, it’s hard to get out of a rut. But that is no reason to accept or respect anyone (including ourselves, or any tribe or nation) who’s stuck in one.

Of course, I am sure there are a few sensitive "I’m-OK-you’re-OK" Liberals out there who might say, "…..Well, over 100 million little girls have had their clitoris sliced off down to the root, and it’s a respected cultural practice in many places of the world, not just Africa and the Middle East. How could so many people be wrong ? I suppose I’d let them do it to my daughters just as long as they used a clean, sharp knife….".

Well, isn’t that wonderful. How broad-minded of you. Your daughters must be proud to have you as a parent.

Excuse me while I barf, again.

I’m sure your little girls would want you move the whole family there, in order that they may all share in that glorious cultural experience, and the rest of the lovely traditions found wherever it is you go. And after that, you can move to Southeast Asia, and sell off your mutilated daughters into Child Prostitution — all while paying the authorities to look the other way. That’s also a time honored tradition. I’m OK, You’re OK. Nothing and no one is evil. It’s all relative. It’s all time place.

Yeah. Right. Gimme a break.

What’s that you say ? You don’t have any daughters ? You only have young SONS ? Oh you who respects all cultures, and rejoice in any and all forms of human diversity — please move HERE with the "SAMBIA" TRIBE, and let your young sons spend a few years having an inter-cultural experience to expand their horizons :

And AGAIN, excuse me while I BARF.

Fortunately, some cultures, though appearing vastly different, sometimes actually fit together and can be constructive on occasion — like a "plug on a drill" culture integrating with an "outlet on the wall" culture. Others are not compatible in their respective "native states" that don’t allow for compromise or "interface" with "other systems". I’m sure you can come up with your own allegories — and actually pick some countries whose populations should avoid cross-immigration with your own, while peoples from other countries would do just fine moving your way (or you to the them).

Anyway, back to the superficial but convenient "race tag" of MULATTO…..

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulatto

Even the CREOLE American General, COLIN POWELL, is Jamaican with Scottish Ancestry…but folks still insist on calling him "BLACK", too.

Even worse than all of the above is the American ignorance displayed every time they call TIGER WOODS an "African-American" Golfer. What the hell is THAT supposed to mean ? His MOTHER was an ASIAN from THAILAND, and his FATHER was a NEGRO from AMERICA who was not even born in Africa. Tiger Woods is THAI-AMERICAN or ASIAN-AMERICAN — never in a million years is he an "African American", and the more Americans continue to call him that, the more American ignorance is on display for all to see.

What is it with Americans ? Do they hate women and motherhood ? Is it their culture to diss the non-white mother of a child whose father was black ? Apparently so ! And apparently both black and white Americans are especially ashamed if the mother is (God forbid) what they like calling a GOOK in times of war. When it comes to talking straight about RACE, Americans as a nation always take the low road of living in DENIAL.

E PLURIBUS IGNORAMOUS UNUM

And what is the particular ignorance in this case ? It’s called…….living under the "ONE DROP RULE" mentality, born from the days when the KKK and "White religious people" ruled the roost in more places than they should have — with this chronic infection still affecting legislation and census terminology even to the present day.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-drop_rule

It’s amazing to me how many BLACKS in America suddenly jumped on the KKK BANDWAGON of the ONE DROP RULE that was meant to deny them equal access to American society……calling Barak Obama the first BLACK PRESIDENT of the USA !

Apparently, when you have the Black population of America (with the Mass Media backing them up) suddenly joining in and agreeing with the KKK that Barak Obama is BLACK, you know America is as wacky as ever.

Once again. Repeat after me : MULATTO.

And again : BI-RACIAL

Once more : HALF-WHITE.

In Closing : CHOCOLATE MILK is NOT BLACK !!!

Now, to the Photo. It’s a great old real 3-D stereoview of some of the most prominent men in America at that time who were keenly interested in the Education of Americans, and in this instance, willing WHITE backers of the work of MULATTO Booker T. Washington and BLACK Tuskegee Institute.
