If you have a website and you have done any research at all, you will have no doubt read about building your brand through social media. If you’re a newbie, you may have had to google “social media” to discover what it is. There seems to be a lot of disagreement about just what constitutes social media.
As the name implies, it is all internet media designed for social interaction. The advice you have probably been given by the “gurus” included the article directories and almost always has come with a whiz bang automated submissions tool attached to the free advice.
There is nothing inherently bad about what they’re selling. You can’t possibly hit all the directories without some automated help. It can become confusing, though, trying to decide who sells the best product. Don’t worry about that, find a free one and use that first.
Blogging doesn’t get a lot of publicity these days because nobody’s yet come up with an automatic blog creation and submitting tool. If there’s no money in it, it doesn’t get promoted. It’s worth it, though, to go through the trouble of creating blogs. True, you will have to put in some effort, but there are ways to streamline the process.
First, there is a great little program that can automatically fill in forms for you. All you’ll need to do is fill in the captcha part of the form. When you are signed up, the same form filler will put in your user name and password.
Secondly, after you have written several articles, you can submit them to all the blog sites. You don’t need original content for each. Some, like WordPress and Blogger, hate anything that looks like spam, so if your articles are loaded with links and keywords, you may want to tone it down for these two very important sites.
Don’t pay big money for false promises. If you are serious about building your brand through social media, you’re going to have to do a little work.
